Feel It to Heal It

10 March 2022 - Digital Drawing

  • In order to heal it, you gotta feel it.

There’s no use whatsoever in bottling everything up and pretending everything’s okay. We are human beings with unpredictable lives and complex consciousnesses. Despite what society and social media may suggest, it’s unrealistic for us to be 100% okay and happy all the time.

Sure, our lives don’t catastrophically fall apart everyday - but things do go wrong. People hurt us, we hurt people, expectations don’t get satisfied, our efforts don’t succeed - etcetera. And if we don’t take the time to process these seemingly small things, the pile of inexpression becomes a big problem. And let’s not forget all those actually big problems we have to deal with too.

However we’re feeling internally shows itself externally by how we see our outside world and reality. We project whatever’s inside us. And don’t even tell me that’s not true! We literally see it all the time - so much so that it’s become a cliche! The grumpy old man who’s upset at life because he didn’t live his own life fully. The rude housewife who complains all the time because her marriage is failing. Or even the mean bully at school who puts other kids down in order to bring him/herself up.

How can we expect ourselves to live an enjoyable life if we’re not happy on the inside? “Fake it ‘til you make it” is useful in some instances, but not this one. So much, if not all, of our suffering sources from our open wounds. And I’m not talking about physical cuts and bruises - I’m talking about vulnerable spots of hurt in our hearts. Spots that are created by things that didn’t go our way, or people breaking the promises they’d sworn to keep.

Here’s a little wake up call. Stop keeping yourself from a happy mind and happy life. Heal the hurt you keep putting away and pretending is not there. Forgive that person who broke your heart. Heal the hurt you have from neglectful parents. Heal yourself from the memories you cringe and cry about upon remembering.

Give yourself room for new things to come into your life, instead of holding onto the past.

Allow yourself to see the pain, acknowledge it - and then when you’re ready, let it go.

In order to heal it, you gotta feel it.

Mixing Matter With Consciousness

14 November 2021 - Acrylic on Canvas Panel

  • There are a lot of times where I forget I am more than a physical being. And I think a lot of us do too. Some of us don’t even know it. Which is fine because all we’ve ever known is our physical senses - and existing in a physical realm constantly distracts us and makes us forget we are more than what we see.

We are not just materialized beings in a materialized world, working for material things to survive and thrive on. We are Consciousness experiencing itself through the lens of a materialized entity. Or, more commonly said, ‘You are not a human being experiencing the Universe; you are the Universe experiencing being human.’

That’s why I made this. It’s a reminder for myself and others that we are more than our physical bodies. We are more than our physical minds, and our physical selves. We are spiritual beings. We are Consciousness. We are the Universe. We are more than we could ever imagine.

So if you ever get caught up with the stress of this physical life, like I do sometimes; such as school, work, family, friends, social circles, money, identity or anything based in this reality - remember that you are more. Remember your spirit. Remember your soul. Let all of that stress go. You are free to be. Don’t let any illusionary structures keep you from that. You are more than those problems, you are more than any drama you can face.

You are Consciousness mixed with matter.

Brainwashed Meaning

6 November 2021 - Digital Drawing

  • Growing up I was taught that I needed to go to school, so I can get a job, for money to start a family, to then retire, grow old and die. Later I was taught that I need to find a passion so that I’m not actually working a job but making a living. Then I was taught that there’s nothing I need to do except make a contribution to the world. Then I was taught that in order to do that, I need to be wildly successful and make money to make a difference. And blah blah blah goes on the rest of the rambling about finding a purpose, fulfilling a journey, being “significant” and thus creating “meaning” in my life.

    All of this is nonsense.

    All of this is illusion.

There’s no “purpose” to life. Other than to just live it.

There’s no “meaning” I need to create in my life. My life already has meaning through mere existence.

There’s nothing I *need* to contribute to the world. Unless I *want* to.

I don’t need to make a crap ton of money or influence millions of people for my life to be “significant”. My life is significant to me.

All this illusion, is society and other people trying to tell you how to live your life.

    WTF!

You have the freedom do whatever you’d like with your life. You have the freedom to be whatever the fuck your want to be.

Now this is not to say that certain actions come without consequences, they do. But what I’m saying is you don’t need to fulfill an idea of your life just because someone else told you that’s what you should do.

You don’t need to have a specific job if you don’t want to. Or a high paying one. Or one at all for that matter.

Would you have to deal with certain consequences financially depending on your situation? Yes.

But you can work through that however you wish. The point is - You do not need to BE anything you don’t want to BE.

You don’t need to be financially wealthy to be happy. You do not need to fulfill your parents expectations to be happy. You do not need to fulfill other people’s opinions of you to be happy. You do not need to be “better” than anyone else. You don’t need to “prove” yourself to anyone.

    You just have to be.

    That’s meaning. Living.
